States Away: Heads Up Lyrics

statesawayofficial:

States Away - Heads Up

We stay up all night long
writing words down and singing songs
and its hard to think where we would be
without each other and nights like these

We do the best that we can keeping our heads up
Another night in the van, things might be rough

But we’re never going…

I’m still searching for apartments in Urbana/Springfield. If anyone knows of any two bed room homes or apartments for rent let me know!

May 2012

I’m scared to ask for help at times. I don’t know if it’s a pride thing, that I think don’t deserve something, or that I think I should be doing better than I am. Either way I firmly believe everyone needs a little help or encouragement sometimes.

I’m moving in 5 days or less. I’m going into unknown territory. I’ll have to start working more than I already am and on top of that try to stay emotionally stable being far away from friends and family in Urbana, OH. It can get pretty lonely in a town that you aren’t familiar with. I can’t drive, I don’t make a lot of money at CRSI, and music/art is one of the only things keeping me going.

CRSI is the company in Urbana I work for as my full time job. They provide services for individuals with challenges in the State of Ohio. It is a non-profit corporation organized by concerned citizens and parents to provide community supports for individuals living with the challenges of developmental disabilities. I enjoy my job but it can be emotionally draining and stressful at times.

Despite my situation I’m  still confident things will be alright. God has never let me down. My friend Justin Evans is moving here from Phoenix, Arizona to be roommates with me. I’ve know Justin since I started playing in bands in 2007. I couldn’t be more excited to be living with another drummer.

This will be the first lease I’ll ever be signing on my own. I’m in need of furniture and house hold items. If anyone has anything they would like to get rid of that they don’t want or need anymore please let me know.

Prayers are of course always welcome and needed. I’ve written this to help me think clearly and let everyone know whats been going on with me. The reason I can not drive right now is that my license was suspended for reaching 12 points from speeding tickets. I’ll be able to drive again in August.

I’m playing in a pop punk band called States Away (https://www.facebook.com/statesawayofficial) with some of my best friends. We are releasing our first EP in June. Feel free to check us out and spread the word about us. I’m working towards getting my design portfolio finished this summer and working on some personal projects.

More than likely I’ll be signing a 6 month to year lease in Urbana. After that I’m out of here! My friends and family mean the world to me. I know I’ve made mistakes in the past and the choices I have made have made my life difficult in this moment. I’m changing my habits and doing my best to create a positive change for my future daily.

Thank you to everyone that has been there for me in the past, present, and future.
